Green made his pro debut in 2008. A former King of the Cage junior welterweight and lightweight champion, Green joined the UFC in 2013. He is 10-7-1 with the promotion. Green is on a two-fight win streak, recently beating Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 271.
Makhachev was supposed to face off against Beneil Dariush, but the latter had to back out after an ankle injury. Green took the fight on 10 days’ notice.
