KIEV (Reuters) - Ukraine striker Roman Zozulya has hinted he will cancel his on-loan move to Rayo Vallecano despite safety guarantees for his family from La Liga after the club’s radical fans protested against the transfer. When Zozulya flew in to join La Liga side Real Betis last summer from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, a Spanish newspaper reported wrongly that he was wearing the shirt of a far-right paramilitary group. It quickly apologised and withdrew the article but after signing for second-division strugglers on a six-month loan on Tuesday, Zozulya was greeted in training at his new club by angry fans carrying a banner declaring it was “not a place for Nazis”....

The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published a video appeal on Friday urging Belarus not to join Russia’s war against Ukraine, warning that they would retaliate if it does. Belarus has been used by its longtime ally Russia during the war as a staging ground to send missiles and troops into Ukraine, but Belarus has not participated directly in the war. However, strains have risen in the past week, with Lukashenko vowing to conduct joint deployments with Russian forces....

Ukraine’s Air Command South reported on Monday evening that units of its Odesa-based anti-aircraft missile brigade had successfully struck each of the helicopters within three minutes of each other. The downed aircrafts were Ka-52 Alligators, considered to be Russia’s most deadly and effective attack helicopter, according to Ukraine’s air force. The reported victory comes as Russia has increased its air attacks and Ukraine presses forward with wresting control of its southern regions....

Footage geolocated by an open source expert and shared on Monday by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a United States think tank, shows thick plumes of smoke rising into the air as explosions strike the territory. The Ukraine International Airlines flight crashed near the Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport and was bound for Ukraine. The plane was carrying 167 passengers and nine crew members. The Ukrainian President said during his nightly televised address on Monday that “most” of approximately 70 missiles launched by Russia had been demolished.
